Polar Plunge
Be
invigorated as never before! Take the Polar
Plunge into the Pacific Ocean to benefit the
Special Olympics Southern California San Diego
County athletes! On Saturday February 28th,
Law Enforcement agencies as well as members
from the community will jump into the 60 degree
ocean to raise money, win rewards and have
a good time! The Oceanside and Carlsbad Police
Department’s have long been fundraising partners
with Special Olympics. This is the 3rd annual
Polar Plunge and the goal is to raise $15,000
for Special Olympics San Diego County athletes.
We
will begin with registration followed by a
short program at 8am then take the plunge
at 10am. Once we are done at 11:30, we encourage
everyone to have lunch at Joe’s Crab Shack,
about a mile away. As one of our sponsors,
Joe’s Crab Shack will be donating a portion
of all Polar Plunge Participant proceeds that
day to Special Olympics!
If
you are interested in taking the plunge we
ask all participants to raise $50.00 minimum,
but of course encourage you to raise more.
All participants receive a Polar Plunge shirt
as well as different incentive items depending
on how much money you raise.
To
register and for details please call Teresa
Contreras @ 619-283-6100 or go to our website
at www.sdcountypolarplunge.com.
